I started painting birdhouses and boxes while volunteering with Our House of Portland, a hospice for those suffering with AIDS. For several years we provided birdhouses and boxes to Northwest artists to paint any way they’d like for a silent auction held in conjunction with a special dinner, often held at the Portland Art Museum. It was a grand affair and a lot of fun. Although I am no longer in Portland, I still paint birdhouses and boxes, plus a bit of furniture. Always in the saturated colors of Mexico.
